OUR COLLEGE

Christ the King College (CKC) Onitsha, Nigeria is an all boys’ high school. Its mission is to
facilitate, nurture and instill in youths a thirst for goodness, discipline and knowledge
based on Catholic moral principles, in preparation for life’s journey to create a better world.
Irish missionaries founded Christ the King College Onitsha, Nigeria in February 1933. It is an
academic institution dedicated to intellectual and personal growth of male youths within the
context of well-rounded liberal arts education in a Catholic environment. Since its founding,
the college has actively maintained its relationship with the Catholic Church despite being
appropriated by the Anambra State Government in 1973 and temporarily renamed Herrey
High School. The school reverted to the Catholic Mission on 1 January 2009. The College
provides equal educational opportunity for all qualified students without regard to race,
religion, creed, color, age, and physical disability, national or ethnic origin. Christ the King
College Onitsha, Nigeria has a present enrolment of 2,700 students in both the Junior
Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS) levels (Grades 7- 12 ).

OUR MISSION

Christ the King College Onitsha Alumni Association in America (CKC-AAA), the body of
the alumni of the school in the Americas, is committed to supporting the school in fulfilling its
mission mandate “to facilitate, nurture and instill a thirst for goodness, discipline and
knowledge based on Catholic moral principles in youths, in preparation for life’s journey to
create a better world.” In this context, CKC-AAA strives to give impetus to the school’s effort
to preserve quality education and values; promote academic excellence, sportsmanship and
good citizenship; and bridging CKC past students with the present and future students.

The Internal Revenue service (IRS) recognized and designated CKC-AAA as a 501 (3) C
